The Kuhlman family - sneak peek

I don't know how I get so lucky to be able to photograph such lovely, photogenic people, but that was the case again when I did a family photo session with the Kuhlmans .  Their session was very fun for me because they're just a fun family.  You'll be able to see that when I post more images from their session, but for now, here are a few of my favorites.

Grace, love those soft blue eyes!

See what I mean about being fun?  You can just tell, can't you?

Sophie - sneak peek

Last week I had the pleasure of photographing miss Sophie, who is getting ready to celebrate her sweet 16th.  Here are just a couple of my favorites, but check back later for more of this cutie...and all her favorite animals!

Down a Country Lane - a styled "Senior photo" shoot

Putting together a styled shoot and growing it from an idea to finished post has been a longtime goal for me.  When I tossed a few theme ideas to my model, she and I had the same first choice - Down a Country Lane.  From there it was a matter of putting together some props, finding an appropriate location (and oh my, did I ever find an amazing location!), and securing my hair & makeup artist.  I'm so grateful to all those who helped me bring this idea to life...with a special THANK YOU to Jack & Betty Feightner for allowing me to use their property for this shoot.
We finished the day with so many great images that I had a very hard time narrowing them down for this blog post...which is why there are lots of them here.  But I'm not apologizing - I'm very pleased and proud to share the final results with you all.
But first, I want to introduce my creative team:
Model:  the adorable Aly Pitzer
Venue:  Edgewood Place
Hair & makeup:  Amy Ford of Strands
Technical assistant and expert reflector holder:  Shanon Pitzer :)

The lemonade was really intended to be a prop, but Aly decided she should have a taste.  Made for some interesting faces.

Also making his (canine) modeling debut:  FLETCH.  He's a natural!

Class of 2013, if you're interested in an amazing senior photo experience like this, contact me (see "About Me" page for conact info).  We can make your ideas come to life too!

Three sweet sisters

These sweeties were visiting Grandma & Grandpa from Florida and I was privileged to capture this time in their lives with my camera.  They made it lots of fun to photograph them, and because I'm one of 3 sisters myself, it was extra fun for me to just be with them and watch them interact.
I think you'll agree that they're pretty stinkin' adorable. Oh, but Reilly made sure I know that we don't call anyone a stinker

The girls brought along all the makings of an adorable little tea party.

This photo just makes me laugh every time I look at it.

Made lots of wishes...

And finally...headed home with Grandpa.

It's a-comin'!

The styled photoshoot turned out to be everything I had envisioned, and then some!  I came home with so many beautiful photos and can't wait to share them all with you.  But since I'm still working on another shoot, I can only show you a couple of my (many) favorites.  These probably best embody the "Country Lane" theme.  Agree?

I have so much to tell you about this day...the location was beyond fabulous...my model adorable (but I don't have to tell you that)...well it was just lots of fun and I'll be showing and telling all about it so check back!

Senior photos - Erin

This was a fun photo shoot for me.  I always love going up to the farm where my grandparents used to live because I spent a lot of time there as a kid...brings back great memories.  And lucky Erin - she got to grow up there!  So we had fun picking spots around the farm to take photos.
We started, however, in the gym at Erin's high school.  She played volleyball for Belmont HS in Decatur, Indiana, and was on the team that won the Class AAA State championship in 2010!!

Then we see her softer side.

This last one makes me happy.  Besides Erin just having a beautiful face, this is my favorite kind of light...late in the day...warm sun providing a backlight.  Yes, ma'am.

Erin, you're beautiful and talented and I wish you all the best as you graduate and start a new phase of your life.  Congratulations!
