Amanda - Class of 2015

Maybe it was the fact she didn’t know how to put on makeup because she doesn’t usually wear any.  Maybe it was the laughing fit we had when she almost got knocked out by a flying champagne cork.  Maybe it was her pretty hair and how adorable she looked in her sundress.   It’s hard to say what I loved most about Amanda and her photo session.  Whatever it was, I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her and hopefully capturing her carefree, “just enjoying life” attitude in these photographs.

Amanda and I hope to fit another photo session in before she graduates, so you’ll probably see more of her on the blog in the future.

Amanda, I know I don't need to tell you this, but I hope you enjoy every moment of your senior year!  I'll see you again before it's over...looking forward to it!

Kelsee and Jordan are married!

My original role at Kelsee and Jordan’s wedding was just to be a guest … one of the grandmothers.  As their date grew closer, however, Kelsee asked if I would be willing to serve as an “extra photographer” as well.   She may have thought I was just helping her out but this turned out to be a benefit to me, because when you have a couple as attractive as Kelsee & Jordan and a wedding as beautiful as theirs was, it makes for lots of beautiful photo opportunities. Being an assistant photographer was actually a role I really enjoyed.  Without the pressure of having to get the “required shots”, I felt more relaxed and free to be a little more creative with my photos than I might otherwise have been.
Kelsee and Jordan have been together for a long time and they’re a couple who just seems to fit together.  They are beautiful people, inside as well as out, and their wedding at the State House in Indianapolis was a gorgeous affair.

Love and congratulations to you, Kelsee and Jordan, and God’s blessings as you begin your life together in Texas!

Chris and Sarah - the proposal!

Sarah may have been a little grumpy about the mix-up with their dinner reservations.  Little did she know that it was all part of Chris' plan to take her on a walk along the canal and ask her to be his wife.  It was a beautiful evening on the canal and though they had to do a lot of walking to get there, I'm pretty sure that when Chris got down on one knee and Sarah realized what was happening, it was all worth it.

These two were in their own little happy world so they didn't need any guidance from me.  I was just there to preserve this exciting moment in photos.

Chris, great job in planning all of this and carrying it out perfectly.  It was so fun to witness the surprise and the overflowing happiness that followed.  I'm honored to have been asked to document this special moment.  Actually, photographing a proposal was on my "photography bucket list", so thanks for helping me check that one off!
I'm so happy for you guys!  Congratulations and best wishes!

Meet Madison - Class of 2015

Madison just started her senior year of high school and it was so fun to be able to capture this episode of her life in photos.  I just love shooting seniors because there is always that mixture of uncertainty and excitement that is uplifting for me.
Now the fact that my great-niece is a senior makes me feel really old, but I got past that and we had a great time on this photo shoot.
Madison, I don't think you've ever looked prettier!

Then her very sweet boyfriend brought her a coke - how thoughtful was that?  So of course we to get him in on the photos.

They're so cute together.

I saved this one for last because, seriously Madison, you look stunning!
