Fall fun - the Haworth children

One of the perks of this photography biz is being able to capture kids at different stages in their life and seeing how they've grown up and changed.  I had the pleasure of photographing the Haworth children for the 2nd time and had a great time doing it.  These kids are that wonderful combination of sweetness with just a little orneriness mixed in - my favorite kind!  Thanks Todd & Tara, for allowing me to capture another slice of life of your precious family.  Enjoy some of my favorites!

Meet Cody - Class of 2013

Most of my senior sessions have been with girls, but all of a sudden I have 2 guys in a row..and guess what?  Their sessions are really fun!  And Cody is not just any senior guy - like Drew, I've kind of seen him grow up.  Actually, I started working with Cody's mom when she was expecting him. Wow!
Sorry Cody...sidetracked...but I can't believe you're graduating!
Seriously though, we had a great time during Cody's senior session.  He was very patient and humored me while I tried some new ideas out.

Cody wears an armband honoring his mom, who is a breast cancer survivor.  Very sweet, Cody.

As you can see, Cody is serious about his sports...and very good at what he does!

AND THEN we lucked into this setting with some amazing old cars!  (Thanks to my super-nice neighbors to be)

And because we were still having fun when the moon came up (true story), we got some cool nighttime shots.

Cody, thank you - a) for letting me take your senior photos, b) for your patience, and c) for just being the sweet guy that you are.  Wishng you much success and happiness in what I'm sure will be a very bright future.

October self-portrait - I am...an animal lover

My girl Jorga is such a great companion.  She runs, jumps, and wiggles all over when I come home, and follows me from room to room.  She happily hops into the car to go with me, regardless of where we're going.  Such a sweetie...
I can't leave out a mention of my cat, Alfred - he's a sweetie too...most of the time.  And my horse, Mani.  Love them all!
Okay, I know it looks like I'm choking poor Jorga here but I'm really not.  Just had to hold her head up because she kept wanting to roll over for a belly rub, which made her drop out of the frame.  Yep, it took quite a few takes for this shot.

Meet Drew

You know how people get locked in your mind at a certain age?  Well, when I first met Drew he was just a kid (because his mom and I have worked together for several years) and in my mind he stayed that way.  Obviously he's not - he's a senior and has grown into a nice young man.  Drew has quite a list of academic accomplishments, has been very involved in 4-H for many years, and has proven himself to be a natural leader.  But what I like most about him is that he's not afraid to be himself...even if that is a little crazy at times (Drew, next time we'll get a photo of you in your tutu).
Drew, I thoroughly enjoyed your photo session...here are some of my favorites.
Drew has trained and shown his beautiful dogs in 4-H for several years.

Drew, I admire your strong faith, as well as your determination to keep your cousin's memory alive by taking him through life with you.  You're quite a special young man.
I hope you are enjoying your senior year.  I have no doubt that your future holds exciting things!
